Why lack of sleep is bad for your health?

lack of sleep

Sleeplessness or sleep loss refers to a lack of sleep. No matter how strong you are, your body needs rest. A car purchased for 1 million USD and a car purchased for 10 million USD must rest, or the engine will get seized. We can’t say that the car purchased for 10 million USD doesn’t require any rest. Similarly, our bodies function in the same way. If we are strong it doesn’t mean that we can stop sleeping.

Lack of sleep has more problems with our whole body from head to toe.
  1. There are chances of resulting in death due to internal bleeding in the brain.
  2. The blood vessels in our brain shrink, resulting in decreased blood pressure, which causes the brain to malfunction because it requires both blood and oxygen to function properly. Brain functions include alertness, response time, logic, memory, decision-making, and problem-solving.
  3. Inadequate rest increases the risk of the brain slowing down. A device that has been in operation for many hours must be switched off, otherwise, it will not work properly due to heat, which can destroy the hardware within the machine. When the machine gets too hot, it will shut down on its own. Similarly, our bodies function in the same way.
  4. For a few seconds you might become inattentive disposition. In life, every second counts, especially while riding the vehicle, where accidents can happen in a fraction of a second.
  5. Heat has an impact on the memory section of our brain. When the temperature rises, the servers become unresponsive. Similarly, when we don’t get enough sleep, our body temperature increases, and due to the heat, our brain memory slows down. Furthermore, fresh knowledge cannot be processed in our brain because it needs rest.
  6. The brain doesn’t react properly on time. Due to the indifference of response our memory and hearing get impaired, we lose the decision-making ability slowly, results in the harmonious functioning of eyes and hands while performing any activity.
  7. The brain cannot access the conscious mind, it becomes inaccessible. Our thinking ability goes down and results in a less creative level.
  8. We get dark circles around our eyes, wrinkles on our face, the skin becomes dull and lacks freshness in the morning. We start getting pimples on our faces due to heat generated in our bodies because of restlessness. Anyone who sees you can ask “Why are you so dull?”.
  9. Our eyes get closed forcefully. Sometimes it can pain our eyes, it can be like someone is trying to take them out.
  10. Due to less sleep blood circulation slows down. Our ears are dependent on the blood that circulates in our bodies. There are chances of losing our hearing ability.
  11. You feel like sleeping in the daytime as your eyes close themselves automatically.
  12. It affects the heart by causing a stroke due to the less circulation of blood. Sometimes your heart will stop working at any moment.
  13. Your emotions start decreasing. You can get high blood pressure.
  14. Causes irregular skin tone, loosening, and weakening of the skin, inability to complete the tasks on time, delayed reactions, and a loss of concentration.
  15. Hormones that stimulate the production of male or female secondary sexual characteristics drop by 10-15%, influencing sexual behavior, physical health, mood swings, and rise in insulin problems. The development of new blood cells will get reduced because of low testosterone levels.
  16. We lose the ability to fight fever as the immune system becomes weak.
  17. Causes cancer, diabetes, hormonal imbalances, metabolic changes, and changes in hormones involved in the regulation of appetite.
  18. Sleep deprivation for 24 hours impairs memory and hearing capacity, slows decision-making ability, increases the risk of a fatal injury, reduces emotions and concentration, and impairs eye and hand control when doing some task. When you don’t get enough sleep for 36 hours, the body notices the difference and begins to respond adversely. Furthermore, for 48 hours, it causes our body to compensate by shutting down. For 72 hours we face some mental problems like hallucinations, false memories, visual illusions, and tremors.
