End of the internet

end of the internet

When was the internet invented?

In 1900, Nikola Tesla gave the idea of the internet.
Paul Otlet and Vannevar Bush devised the mechanization of the storage systems in 1930-1940.
In the 1960s, MIT’s J.C.R. Licklider popularized the idea of the networking concept of computers.
Then came the packet switching, the significant part for transferring the data from one place to another.
In the 1960s, the first workable model of the internet came.
In 1969, the first node-to-node communication happened from one computer to another.
In 1970, Robert Kahn and Vinton Cerf developed TCP/IP.
In 1983, the assembling of the network of networks started.
In 1980, Tim Berners-lee invented the worldwide web.

Why was the internet invented?

The internet was invented for data communication.

What is the internet?

The internet is an information superhighway that allows users to access virtually any type of data.
The invention of the world wide web helped in the improvement of the internet. From there till date, the use of the internet has rapidly increased all across the world.

Is there an end to the internet?

Internet invention has significantly helped us, but the same invented internet can get collapsed for several reasons.
Internet pollution is increasing rapidly. A large amount of data is stored. Every day 2.5 quintillion bytes of data are stored. In the future, this will increase even further. In another 100 years, assume the magnitude of the data. Will humans be able to handle it? There will be a day where the whole data will get crashed. The entire internet system will collapse. When there is a permanent internet crash, humans will become blank without knowing what to do. Almost most businesses are connected to the internet in some way. It will tremendously affect the world economy.

It might be due to a lack of electricity, the entire satellite system collapsing and destroying the ground system, or an electromagnetic storm wiping out all networking systems.

Radiation emitted through the servers will start affecting humans. Humans will face new types of diseases. The heat produced by the servers is depleting the ozone layers, which in the future may affect nature. Day by day, the quality of the data is increasing. Earlier, we used to use 100MB for months. Now we are spending it within minutes. As the quality and speed of data improve, so does the size and radiation of the data. For example, watching an HD video will emit more radiation which will affect the climate. The emissions released by standard definitions videos are much lesser. Now we are in 4G. As the generations increase, the speed of the data and emissions will also increase. As the speed increases, there are chances of more accidents.

The emissions by the digital sector have already crossed 5% on this planet.

Internet might be helping in the increase of speed of the business but don’t forget too fast is dangerous for our lives.

Now we are happily enjoying the internet, but days are not far where everyone will start crying because of the problems created by the internet. It will begin to affect every person on the earth in some way.

Some of the experts probably won’t agree with this. They will argue that we are already working on eco-friendly computers, mobiles, eco-friendly radiation shielding that helps in reducing the impact on humans and the environment.

However, these are just temporary solutions. Remember there is nothing stopping of internet crash, and it will be the end of the internet.
