Political gaslighting

By opposition
When the opposition party blames the ruling party for its every mistake, then they should also praise the good works done by the ruling party but they downplay or hide them. They always fuel negativity in the public’s brain.

By ruling party
When the ruling party hides the wrong done by their administration by discrediting the political opponents or by diverting the attention of the public from important events by creating controversy.

Gene sharp theory

It is one of the theories used to demolish the ruling government. This theory was composed by an american political scientist gene sharp which has nearly 198 methods.

  1. Blocking the roads and streets.
  2. a.) Burning the fire engines – the real motive behind this is to burn the fire engine first so that everything else burns. b.) When the opposition parties get frustrated they start burning the public properties. To redevelop the burnt properties the government has to spend taxpayer’s money. It’s a wastage of taxpayer’s money.
  3. Attacking the police and our security forces by throwing stones.
  4. Usage of women and children in protests so that the government finds it hard to make a move on them.
  5. Using acid packets, petrol bombs in protests so that the government gets confused and doesn’t have a clue what to do.
  6. Using media and pr strategies to run negative campaigns.
  7. Opposition parties – Mislead people by setting fake narratives and projecting as if the government is inefficient. Ruling parties – Mislead people by setting fake narratives to divert the attention from the public issues.
  8. Turn our people against the government.
  9. Spreading of fake news even after busting – there are some activists whose job is to spread propaganda or create conspiracy theories against an individual even after proving them wrong. They do this to divide the public’s brain. This will create confusion about which is valid and which is false information.
Spreading of fake news continuously one after the another so that the government won’t be able to crack them.
  10. There is a saying when you can’t defeat a person, destroy the character of the person by attacking family members, or followers.
  11. Provoking the ruling party – opposition parties try to provoke the ruling government so that when the ruling party takes action on the opposition party they can play the victim card in front of the public and media by saying its right to individuals freedom, can’t we express our views and thoughts. Also, they try to approach the human rights commission.
No matter what the ruling party does oppositions try to comment on them.
  12. Agitation to switch off the logical brain of the ruling government – when the ruling party takes a decision and the opposition doesn’t like it and starts protesting along with their party members. Even if the decision taken by the ruling party is in the correct direction the opposition will start protesting. For eg., a.) if the decision taken by the government is EFGH the opposition will tell only EF leaving GH in front of the public. b.) Suppose if the decision taken by the ruling party was in the manifesto of the opposition party even then the oppositions will start protesting because of jealousy. They will feel the ideology which we weren’t able to implement how did they implement, no no we shouldn’t give the credits to them let’s hit the streets this will be their mindset. They continue the protest for a long period so that it becomes a migraine and disturbance for the ruling government so that they will not be able to concentrate on the development part.
  13. Sometimes using the investigation authorities against an individual to frame them or to set a narrative against them.
  14. Honey Trap – Trapping the politician using girls. So that they can blackmail the politician.
  15. When the opposition parties are not strong enough to defeat the ruling parties they take help from the other countries.
  16. Some of the opposition parties will be involved in a.) creating fake currency b.) digital media war.
Borrowing loan at the end of tenure

Suppose let’s assume a party called ABCD came to power in 2000. After 4 years the performance of ABCD is not up to the mark, no proper developments and the people are not happy with them. The elections are coming and ABCD knows that it’s going to be tough to continue to be in power after the 2005 elections. The opposition parties are taking a dig at the ruling party ABCD. Now when the elections are approaching in another 10-12 months the ruling party will play a strategy by taking loans. Say 1 lakh crore rupees from the world bank or any other local banks. After taking they won’t make it public and even the opposition doesn’t know about this. After the 2005 elections let’s say one of the parties who were in the opposition comes to power. Now they have to understand what are the works done by the previous government and the condition of the economy. After few days they will come to know about the debt taken by the previous government. To return the debts they will increase the price of the daily commodities. As soon as they increase now the party ABCD who are in the opposition will start playing the game and will start setting a narrative by spreading propaganda in the public’s brain that the government is trying to loot the public by increasing the prices. When a narrative is set it’s difficult to bust it. Now even when the ruling party shows the loan documents taken by the previous government public won’t be in a stage to believe because the party ABCD will try to spread propaganda saying these are fake documents don’t believe them.

Now the readers might think the loans taken by the government have to be made public according to the rules. But the ground reality is different there are many examples like this we request the readers to please do some research on them.

Vote bank politics

Political parties working towards a particular community or giving daily commodities for free is called vote bank politics.

There is another way of creating vote bank politics. The ruling political parties are involved in creating a lobby. Assume a political party called ABCD is in power. They create a new scheme for all the doctors and patients under which if the doctor treats 1 patient then the government will pay the consultation fees, the patient is not required to pay the consultation fees to the doctor. The patient feels very happy whenever he or she gets free treatment and they get an impression that this scheme is extremely great, I will vote ABCD party next time.

Now the doctor who is giving treatment will do some gimmicks. To make more money, he will provide the government with false information. If a doctor treats 500 patients in a month, he may report the figures to the government as 800 patients. Without treating those 300 patients, the doctor earns more money. This approach will now be used by all doctors. What happens now is that all the doctors are making a lot of money using this technique, so they all get together and decide that they will vote for the ABCD party next time.

The reason why the patients and doctors vote for the ABCD party is that if any new party gets elected they might abolish this scheme. If this scheme gets abolished, then the patients won’t be able to get free treatment, and the doctors won’t be able to make money easily.

Do you believe the ABCD party is unaware of the gimmicks done by the doctors?

They will be aware of it but will take no action against them because if the government takes action against them, the lobby will break and the party will be losing their votes.

Giving daily commodities for free is not bad, but it should be given to the people who need it, not for everyone or a particular community.

A politician’s fundamental tactic is involving the bureaucrats and judges in corruption.

The ruling parties involve the bureaucrats and judges while doing scams. When a political party corrupts a bureaucracy, it becomes very easy for that party to blackmail judges and bureaucrats. If the ruling party scams fall into the hands of the opposition, and the case goes to court, the judge will be unable to give a proper decision as he will be also involved in the scam.
